The Wisdom of Trees

This work is the result of my research into the ‘Wood Wide Web’ which is discussed in depth in both the book ‘Entangled Life’ (Sheldrake, 2020) and the documentary film ‘Fantastic Fungi’ (2019). The communication that happens underfoot between the trees, plants and mycorrhizal network is incredibly complex and vital in repairing the environmental damage caused by humanity.

The sage leaves that I have used to create this installation represent wisdom and also wrap a protective arm around the trees to clear the air and to keep them safe, allowing them to continue to do their crucial work in repairing the earth.
