Discarded, 2023 is a short stop motion animation which highlights the issue of fast fashion, particularly in the context of social media . The piece is framed as a square to mimic the posts of influencers on Instagram.
Futility, 2023 shows the hard work that the fungi in the mycorrhizal network do in a short animated film. As the fungi try to clean up the pollution the mycelium gets more drenched in colour, showing the scale of the issue.
Landfill, 2023 is a textile piece of two hoops 10" and 12" in size. The hoops feature two different types of mushroom, and, hanging outside the frame, the mycorrhizal network joins the two together. Below ground, the mycelium is working hard to break down clothes that have ended up in a landfill. The pieces of clothing included are those worn in the animated piece 'Discarded.
